Q&A, with Liam (vocals, guitar / piano)

Define your genre in five words or less:

Mainstream alternative / Thunderdance

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

What are your top 5 favourite albums?

Jeez that is tough! This is one question the answer would change on a daily basis and even more so if you were asking different members of the band! But (for now) I'll go with: Revolver - The Beatles Dear Friends and Enemies - Big Heavy Stuff Whatever and Ever Amen - Ben Folds Five Diorama / Neon Ballroom - Silverchair In Rainbows - Radiohead

What is your most memorable gig (playing or watching)?

Playing at the Corner Hotel in Richmond on election night 2010 would definitely be high up there. I remember seeing bands there as soon as I turned 18. So to be up onstage playing too a pumped up crowd - it was a memorable night!

Where do you usually draw inspiration from as a writer? Do you have a process? eg music first, lyrics first etc

There is no set process, as it seems to be different each time. I usually start with a melody or a riff or progression on the guitar / piano and sometimes key lines or words seem to write themselves. I then try and come up with words that suit the song or what is going around in my head at the time. If nothing comes then it goes away into my draw indefinitely - so some songs are finished years after the original idea was formed. I have specific ideas for the instrumentation, I'll try and record these bits at home before taking it to the band where it will be re-interpreted again.
