// Oh Pep!
Folk, Pop, and Fiddles are all present. Alarmingly fun, surprisingly deep, incredibly catchy and freshly enchanting.
Q&A, with Pepi (Violin/Mandolin/Songwriter)Define your genre in five words or less:
Folk/Pop/Country with Bluegrass Instrumentation...How long have you been writing and playing music? Was there a song or moment that first inspired you?
Olivia and I have been writing since 2009 when we were at the Victorian College of The Arts Secondary School together. Not sure about Liv, but I know I didn't start writing songs until I met her and we started writing together...I guess that was the defining moment in Oh Pep!'s history; realizing that in the case of songwriting,we work best together, not as individuals.If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?
Always such a hard question to answer. Even if I had all the time in the world, I think I still couldn't answer properly. I did just listen to Johnny Cash Live at Folsom Prison, I wouldn't have minded being there and playing him a tune! And though wouldn't have to travel back in time, I'd like to play Paul Kelly a track or two one day!What are your favourite venues?
Ones that treat you well.What are your top 5 favourite albums?
another impossible question, no idea either. Some of my most listened to at the moment would be... The Punch Brothers-Anti Fogmatic Bon Iver- Bon Iver Robinella Contreras- Robinella&The CC String Band Paul Kelly- always a favourite, any album will do. Django Reinhardt&Stephane Grappelli- any Quintette du Hot Club de France anyday.What is your most memorable gig (playing or watching)?
Playing music in general is most memorable gig so far.Where do you usually draw inspiration from as a writer? Do you have a process? eg music first, lyrics first etc
