Avant-Garde group On Diamond and the electro-pop fueled Ellish Gilligan join as support acts.

and her stunning band are launching the single ‘Walkin’ Around’ this Friday at Vinyl in Fitzroy.

Jen Cloher & Courtney Barnett’s latest acquisition for Milk Records brings with her a dreamy pop undertone which is somehow brilliantly co-existing with her edgy alt-rock frontage creating a not-too-unfamiliar tone with almost-spoken vocals atop the rocky exterior.

Support comes from Loose Tooth and the absolutely exploding force, Baby Blue.

GENRE: Alt-Rock, Alternative Pop
WHEN: Friday, 16/12 @ 6 PM
WHERE: Vinyl – 276 Nicholson St, Fitzroy

ezekiel-oxEZEKIEL OX
, front man for Superheist, brings his solo tunes into Brunswick town at the famed Penny Black this Saturday night.

Performing new songs off the back of a 3-date solo tour earlier in November, he brings fully-fledged rock with the assistance of long-term collaborator DJ MARZE.

He’ll be supported by The Jackrabbits, whose front man Jakksen Fish was a heavy contributor to the now defunct Melting Pot open mic nights!

GENRE: Rock, Garage Rock
WHEN: Saturday 17/12 @ 8 PM
WHERE: The Penny Black – 420 Sydney Rd, Brunswick

resignatorsMelbourne’s kings of ska, THE RESIGNATORS are still going strong and a Tuesday night residency is theirs throughout December at the iconic Cherry Bar.

They’ve recently completed studio album number four and are sure to hit the stage rocking with some of their old classics along with the new tunes off the recent recording.

Boasting a 4-piece horn section The Resignators mix traditional ska with soul, big band and the usual third-wave punk influence.

Supported by long-term friends Blind Man Death Stare, this week’s edition of their December residency is well and truly on our radar!

Josh Forner

Josh Forner is a folk/pop songwriter from Melbourne, Australia and Virginia, USA. Forner was born in Melbourne on July 2 1988, and spent the first 18 months of his life there before moving with his parents to the town of Reston in Virginia, USA. At the age of 3, Forner and his mother returned to Melbourne, where he has stayed ever since.

Josh sings of love, primarily (wow, what a shock right?), but also on his list of ‘hot topics’ are politics, famine, poverty and - of course – landscapes: the folk writer’s favourite.

He’s played with some of Melbourne’s stalwarts including Timothy Cannon, Bridget Pross, Mr Brady, Pro Rata, Gabriel Lynch & Kyle Taylor, and has contributed two of his tracks to non-profit compilation CDs in the past.

Josh’s repertoire continues to grow. He released his first album, a 10-track LP entitled ‘Leading to Nowhere’ at The Workers Club on May 28th, 2013. Forner has since returned to the studio to begin work on a 5-track solo EP to be released by the end of 2013. Following that, he has plans for album number two in 2014.
