Melting Pot’s Top 4: Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017
Hello and welcome back to another installation of ‘Melting Pot’s Top 4’ – thanks so much for sticking with us as we continue to bring you the 4 absolute must-see gigs in Melbourne this coming week.
We’re scouring deep and hard to find you the cream of the crop that live music in this town has to offer!
//SATURDAY// tulalah ‘lungs’ launch & album pre-release
After a lineup change and a bit of a time away recording, 8-piece orchestral folk outfit TULALAH returns to the stage with new material from their upcoming LP, ‘The Question,’ beginning with a single launch for their first cut of the new album, ‘Lungs’.
This night is not merely a single launch, however, it is also being billed as an album pre-order event, where you can secure your copy of ‘The Question’ before it hits the public’s hot little hands. A pre-order of the CD for $10 and a 12″ vinyl $25 – these prices are set to jump and is a one time only offer!
If you’re a fan of vocal harmonies, meandering horn sections or even just music in general, we highly recommend the guys and gals from Tulalah enter your catalogue.

The Grace Darling Hotel is kicking off a months’ worth of free entry Wednesday night shows this week with punkers CHELSEA BLEACH, crunch-pop 4-piece SWIM TEAM and TALI.
The first in their run of free Wednesday nights sees two of the most talked-about acts in Melbourne’s live scene – in Chelsea Bleach and Swim Team – showing off their impressive prowess. Mysteriously, we can’t find a whole heap of information on the act touted as ‘Tali;’ yet we are certainly sure that joining on a lineup of this calibre means you don’t have anything to worry about!

Focusing on the fan experience this year with 2 stages running and no clashes between sets, you can rest assured that all your favourites will be making their way through to the aural pleasure centres in your brain.
With thirteen acts set to grace the stages this year it promises to be one of the loudest and most entertaining Cherry Rock’s in memory.
Featuring: SHIHAD; NASHVILLE PUSSY; BOTTLECAP; AMYL & THE SNIFFERS and so many, many more. Check the link below for details and ROCK ON!
WHEN: Sunday 7/5 @ 12PM

WHAT ABOUT SOMETHING DIFFERENT…?
//friday// karlashnick + girl friday
Born in the depths of the little-known Soviet stronghold of Karlashnickadia, KARLASHNICK is a Government-devised program to deliver the messages of the “democratic” nation.
Present with perfect posture and be dazzled by the devotion of your fearless leaders. Revel in the sanctity of your comrades and the deliverance you so deserve.
A ‘fair and acceptable’ warm up act has been chosen, comrade Girl Friday an award-winning singer/songwriter, presenting her songs via guitar and ukulele.
If none of this makes sense to you; go to the show.
