Monday May 27th 2013

The team at Melting Pot are very excited to announce that our weekly open mic night is returning – on Monday the 27th of May at The Clyde Hotel in Carlton.

The night will run in a similar fashion to our nights at Bertha Brown & Horse Bazaar with a 7:30pm start, a rotating host and a free pizza & drink for all performers who arrive before 9:00pm. We also have a few new surprises up our sleeve!

Running an open mic night is really important to us at Melting Pot as it provides opportunities for everyone to play – whether they be local artists or from interstate or overseas, experienced or starting out – it’s a great supportive forum where artists can try new things, hone their craft and network with other likeminded people. As anyone who has been along to our previous open mic nights would know, there’s certainly no shortage of quality artists floating about!

We are very fortunate to have Tom Millington looking after the hosting duties in for the month of June but starting off for this week we have Tom Lee Richards so we’ll be starting off with a bang! As with our previous Open Mic nights, we encourage performers to book ahead if they want to guarantee a spot but will always leave a couple of spots for the first people that rock up on the night.

So put Monday the 27th of May down in your diary (and every Monday thereafter) – and send us an email at openmic@meltingpotonline.com if you’re keen to lock in a spot!
